Nicky Horne - my goodness me, that's a blast from the past. I rememebr he used to do some TV programme that was on just before the (ITV?) news. One show was trailed as having an exclusive inteview with George Harrison, so I sat patientlky throught he whole show. A minute before the end, GH sped up in a sporty looking motor with an outrageous perm (George, that is - not the sporty looking motor...although...) and shook NH's hand. Cue credits...
I don't know about me mother, but I never had much time for him after that...
Glad to hear it Tone - I'm more a middle ages man meself...
I vaguely remember The Tyla Gang who were an offshoot of Ducks Deluxe. "Little" Nicky Horne used to play them.
ReplyDeleteWho was bigger? "Little" Nicky Horne or "Diddy" David Hamilton?
I,M IN LOVE WITH THE MODERN WORLD!!!!!!!

From some angles, Jonathan Richman could be Robbie Fowler.
ReplyDeleteCan you think of any other twee-pop-punk innovators who look a bit like former Liverpool strikers if you screw your eyes up and look sideways?
Yes Timster - he's got Robbie Fowler's low centre of gravity and eye for goal too, I'll warrant.
ReplyDeleteGreen from Scritti Politti does look a bit like a poncified Phil Thompson, now you mention it...
