Remember him this way...

An Adult-Oriented Rock Singer's Love Song:

After A Subaltern's Love Song.

Joan Armatrading,
Joan Armatrading,
In your velvet jacket
With military braiding.

Singing your mind-numbing
A.O.R.
On your poncey, roundbacked
Ovation guitar.

Joan Armatrading,
Joan Armatrading,
Indifferent to the countries
We are invading.

While sectarian militias
In Basra riot,
You pointlessly sing about
Dropping the pilot.

Joan Armatrading,
Joan Armatrading,
In Baghdad and Kabul
The troops are parading.

While you wail your songs for
Middleclass simpletons
And cohabitate with
Valerie Singleton(s)

Joan Armatrading,
Joan Armatrading,
Geo-political conflict
Evading

You sing not a word of
Iraqi invasion -
You're not in love...

....but you're open to persuasion.

  1. Oh, to be sandwiched between Mel & Jane. Thanks to the Internet where not only there are plenty of visuals of both, but you can also shop online for a box of Kleenex tissues (man-size of course).
Enjoyed The Fab Four pod, especially "Flying" and the last one by George, as they both featured cheesy organs, but you knew that those would appeal to me anyway.

  2. Cheesey organs eh?

(I believe you can get a preparation for that Istster....probably from the same place on the interweb that you get the tissues...)

    ;)

Thanks - glad you liked it.

    Up the Eagles!

    L.U.V. on ya,
