  4. I think you may have out-done yerself with this one Bob.

It's got a good vibe to it, well recorded - and it has those background atmospherics to suit the song - it has tasteful and respectful use of reverb.

A point that you mentioned earlier...if you don't mind people recording your songs from, say, your MySpace profile, why don't you just enable the 'Download' facility on it instead of just streaming it? MP3 and minidisc compression together is a bit heavy on the ears.

  5. PS - has Paul Jewell heard it yet?

  6. Another good one Bob. Nice guitar, clever lyrics and the balance is just right.

  7. Thank you all for the kind comments.

Re: the dowmload v. streaming thing. They will be available to download soon Istster, free and for cash - I don't know, I guess I just want people to keep coming back, rather than downloading and scarpering, if that makes sense.

Anyone who trusts me to have their email address, I'm quite happy to mail MP3s of good mixes too.

Drop me a line (I'm sinking fast...)

And a special L.U.V. on y'all for BaggieBird - did anyone else realise she was the star of Green Wing, btw??

    Bob

I think Paul Jewell will need something a bit livelier to cheer him up after Wigan's stuffing at the Emirates on Sunday coming..

  10. Crisp, delicate and wonderful. Wow. That was cool.

  11. The Swipester strikes again, with a characteristically mournful track that depicts a suicidal Northern Soul fan in terms of metaphors from the shipping forecast. Subtle use of echo suggests that RS has been listening to early Cherry Red (think solo Ben Watt). Very nice, although perhaps it pales a little when compared to the edgy, unsettling drama of his previous gem, 'My Hero Let Me Down'.

(I was going to use both 'crisp' and 'delicate' there, but Molly took the words right outta my mouth, as Mr Loaf would put it.)
